Expectations for responders are very high. It is our belief that the world will judge Christianity by the way Christians behave. It is our intention that nothing related to this web site be used to turn people away from God.
Individuals who need God in their lives so often allow the smallest things to be barriers to their faith. For that reason, members of the Memphis Area Churches "Questions for Christian Living" responder panel must conduct themselves in appropriate manner.
Therefore, the following expectations are considered a minimum standard for participation:
- Responders agree that the moderators of the ministry can, at their sole discretion, edit or delete any response from the web site.
- Responders will not use the forum to promote any particular denomination or church.
- Responders will not use the forum to discredit any particular denomination or church.
- Responders will not discredit the answer of any other responder directly. If one responder disagrees with another, he or she may post their differing answer, but MAY NOT say anything to discredit the other poster.
- You cannot say things like, "Despite Dr. Smith's statement, the truth is....."
- Nor can you say things like, "While some people on the panel believe this way....., in truth, the correct thing to do is....."
- No anonymous postings. All responses should end with a signature which includes:
- Name
- Title
- Affiliation
Examples:
Dr. John Smith, Ph.D.
Psychologist
Memphis Family Counseling Center
Bishop Robert Jones, Th.D.
Pastor
Memphis Faith Congregation
- All postings should use proper spelling and grammar. You may type your responses on a word processor and "cut and paste" them into the answer system.
- Responders need not answer every question. Responders should limit their responses to occasions when their experience or expertise will add more information or a different perspective.
